Ms. Frasch is General Counsel for the Animal Legal Defense
Fund, a national non-profit animal protection organization that seeks
to
protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the
legal system. In addition to her duties with the Animal
Legal Defense Fund, Ms. Frasch is the co-author of the premier American
legal
casebook in the field, Animal Law, Cases
and Materials (Carolina Academic Press, 2002), and is an adjunct
Professor
of Law at Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College where
she has
taught survey and advanced courses in animal law since 1998.
Ms. Frasch received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, and her J.D. from
William
Mitchell College of Law. Prior to
joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund, she practiced labor and
employment law
in San Francisco (Littler, Mendelson;
Hanson,
Bridgett) and employee benefits law in Portland
(Stoel Rives). Ms. Frasch is a frequent speaker on
issues of animal
law and is he principal author of Oregon’s
first felony anti-cruelty law. She has
authored or co-authored numerous articles in field, and been recognized
by both
the Humane Society of the United States and the Oregon Humane Society
for her
contributions. In August, 2008, Ms.
Frasch will become the new Director of the animal law program at Lewis
&
Clark law school.
