Susan Marcus, Ph.D.

Susan Marcus teaches "Introduction to Business & Global Affairs" and "Business Environment," core business administration classes that provide a critical analysis of the role of business in its physical, social, and economic environment. Susan has a diverse professional background that includes public, private, and non-profit sector experience in operations, advertising, marketing & communications, training & development, finance, project management, and business development. Her most recent position was vice president, acquisitions and business development, at a subsidiary of Portland Habilitation Center, Inc. where her focus was on development of supportive housing. Susan Marcus has a BS from Eastern Oregon University, and an MS in educational policies, foundations, and administration and MBA degrees from PSU. She recently completed doctoral studies for a PhD in Systems Science/Business Administration at PSU and is Deputy Director of the Free Market Business Development Institute within the school of business. Her research interests include organizational dynamics that support a business model that strives to be environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. |
