Terry Smith has spent the last 23 years working in both northern California and Portland in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility in the Human Resources function.  Currently, he is the Director of Organizational Development for PCC Structurals, Inc., a division of Precision Castparts Corporation, a manufacturer of aerospace, medical, and other steel products.  Before joining PCC, Terry was the Director of Human Resources for Yakima Products, Inc., an outdoor equipment manufacturer that recently moved from Northern California to Beaverton.  Previously, since 1998, Terry was the head of HR for a 300-person division of Welch Allyn Inc., a medical device company based in New York with a facility in Beaverton.   Terry has also worked as an HR manager and Employee Relations specialist in a variety of manufacturing and R&D environments including such companies as The Imagination Network (now a division of AOL), Hitachi America, Ltd., and Oxford and Associates, Inc., a human resources management consulting and staffing firm based in Boston.   He served as an independent consultant providing HR advisory services to smaller companies for several years in the mid -1990’s.  A Pacific Northwest native, Terry holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Willamette University and an MS in Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Oregon.
