MBA Alumni Eric Spangenberg, professor of marketing at Washington State University , has been promoted to the position of Senior Associate Dean of the College of Business and Economics. Spangernberg holds the Geoff and Florence Maughmer Freedom Philosophy Endowed Chair, his second high honor in the college. Previously, he was the first professor to hold the Gardner O. Hart Faculty Excellence distinguished Professorship.
Leona Mathews (MBA) has accepted the position of CEO of The Neurology Center and Headache Center in Southern California .

CB Richard Ellis in Portland promoted Dan Swift to Senior Vice President. Dan's responsibilities include spearheading the Tenant Representation efforts of his team on a local and regional basis. He is also actively involved as a member of the Law Firm Practice Group and the Brokerage Advisory Committee (BOAC) within CB Richard Ellis.

Michael Erickson, SBA grad, former student body president and Vikings football player started AFMS Logistics Management Group in 1992 from the basement of his home. Now the Tigard-based independent transportation consultant made the "fastest-growing private companies in the county" list at No. 319. Erickson is AFMS' President and Founder.

Bergen Peterson (MBA) has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer with Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver .
The Children's Cancer Association has hired Mary K. Turina as Director of Finance. Turina was Vice President of Risk Management at Portland General Electric.
Trina Bandelow was added to the board of directors of the ALS Association of Oregon & SW Washington. She also is president of Northwest Medical Inc.

Dan Olds owns his own marketing and strategy consulting firm - Gabriel Consulting Group - in Beaverton . Prior to that he has worked for Sequent Computer Systems, Cray Research/Sun Microsystems and IBM - where he has gained extensive experience in world-wide marketing activities, product development, competitive marketing, etc. Through his past employers he has also held seminars and classes concerning strategy and marketing.

MBA Alumni Katherine Simpson recently received her CPA license (Fall 04 issue) and was promoted to Vice President, Assistant Controller at Columbia River Bank, where she has worked for the past 7 + years.
McDonald Jacobs has promoted B. Clay Biberdorf (CER1999 - accounting) to manager.
Jason Jones is currently the National Sales Manager for Affiliated Resources, Inc. based out of Portland . Affiliated Resources is a sales and marketing company that provides OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) customers with wood products and component parts. After spending five years working out of corporate headquarters in Portland , Jason moved to Lake Havasu City , ZZ to start up a new venture for the company.
JC Penny awarded Steve Flunker (MBA) his second consecutive Chairman's Award for Managerial Excellence. The award recognized the top 250 managers of the 150,000 associates company each year.

Dan Rice (MBA) has been promoted to Managing Director with Macadam Capital Partners in Portland.

Pacific Pathology Associates in Salem recently hired Michelle Cheney (MBA) to help expand their referral base. She will write their business plan and help them grow their business.

Shortly after graduating from PSU Nicole Geils moved to Girdwood , Alaska . She has a strong passion for skiing, so Alyeska Resort was the perfect fit. She has worked various jobs within the resort and was recently promoted to Marketing Manager. She is now implementing marketing strategies for Alyeska Resort, the Alyeska Prince Hotel, and the Anchorage Golf Course.

Greg Brown MBA writes, "Five days after the commencement ceremony in June, my wife Jennie Hunter-Brown '82, gave birth to our daughter, Suzanne." The Browns also have a four year old son, Kirk. Brown, who lives in Klamath Falls , earned his degree through the distance learning program which was a "wonderful experience."
Greg was recently hired by Riverview Community Bank as Vice President in Loan Administration.
