Entering MBA Class Is PSU's Most Selective
The 45-member PSU MBA class of 2004, which began the 2-year program in Fall 2002, represents the most experienced and academically prepared class in recent memory, according to Dean Scott Dawson.
One measure of selectivity is the standardized GMAT score, which all MBA applicants are required to take. The average score for this entering class is 635 out of possible 800 points, putting PSU on par with such notable schools as University of Washington, Thunderbird School of Management (Arizona) and University of Wisconsin, Madison.
The average undergraduate grade point average was 3.24, and included majors as divergent as engineering management and philosophy. Approximately 30 percent of students entered with business degrees, 30 percent with engineering degrees and 30 percent with liberal arts degrees. More than 100 schools were represented.
In addition, students have an average of 6 years’ work experience, with OHSU topping the list of employers.
