The School of Business at Portland State University Graduates more than
600 Students
PORTLAND, Oregon – They’re everywhere!
The School of Business at Portland State University this year graduated more than 600 business majors, including 110 MBA and Master’s of Financial Analysis students and 515 undergraduates, making the 2002-2003 graduating class one of the largest in the School’s 40-year history.
The School of Business at Portland State University is the largest and most diverse business school in the Northwest, with approximately 500 graduate students and nearly 3,000 undergraduates studying business at any time. Drawn to the School’s combination of outstanding faculty and close connections to the business community, students increasingly choose PSU for business study. The Fall 2002 entering graduate class was the largest in the school’s history, with 165 students starting the MBA and Master’s of Science in Financial Analysis programs.
Graduation ceremonies for the 2002-2003 class were held June 13 and 14. The graduate ceremony, known as The Hooding Ceremony, took place on Friday afternoon, June 13 in Hoffmann Hall on the Portland State campus, and featured speaker Donald Washburn, former executive vice president of Northwest Airlines. More than 400 friends and family attended the event, which included a procession of faculty and students led by a bagpiper. Be sure to visit the Hooding Ceremony Photo Album.
The University Commencement Ceremony was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at The Rose Garden, and featured outgoing Oregon Symphony Music Director James DePriest as Commencement Speaker.
