Kristi Yuthas, Ph.D., Professor of Accounting Information Systems, Awarded Swigert Professorship

Portland, OR -- Kristi Yuthas, Ph.D., Professor of Accounting Information Systems, has been named the first recipient of the Swigert Professorship in Information Systems.

Dr. Kristi Yuthas received her Ph.D. in Business Administration and her B.S. in Finance from University of Utah.

Her research focuses on the organizational and social consequences of information and management control systems. Dr. Yuthas’ research in these areas has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Information Systems, the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems and the Journal of Business Ethics.

Dr. Yuthas, who is a Scholar-in-Residence at American University in Washington, D.C. for the 2002-2003 academic year, teaches managerial and accounting information systems at PSU. She has worked as a corporate accountant and as a consultant in systems analysis and process design.

The Swigert Professorship was endowed through a generous donation from the Swigert Foundation to support faculty in the area of information systems management. Hank Swigert, Chairman of the Board of ESCO Corporation, is a leading supporter of PSU.
