Management

The Management option provides the requisite knowledge and skills which enable the student to meet the challenges of managerial responsibilities.

General Management Option Requirements (2006-2007 bulletin year) *

  • Management Sequence Sheet (PDF)
  • Management/Human Resource Management Sequence Sheet (PDF)
  • A minimum of 24 credits as follows:

    • MGMT 351 - Human Resource Management (4)
    • MGMT 445 - Organization Design and Change (4)
    • MGMT 448 - Team Processes (4) (effective 2003-2004 bulletin year)
    • MGMT 464 - Contemporary Leadership Issues (4)
    • Electives (8)

    Of the 8 credits of electives, four credits must be upper-division Management courses. The remaining four credits can be either:

    1. Upper-division Management courses, or
    2. From the approved list of courses, some of which are within the SBA and some of which are from outside the SBA. Courses selected from this list that are outside the SBA will fulfill requirements for the General Management option but WILL NOT COUNT towards the minimum of 82 credits in business course work required to graduate. 

    The approved list of courses that will be accepted for the General Management option is: ISQA 459, MKTG 376, MKTG 464, MKTG 430, PSY 342, PSY 360, PSY 436, PSY 440, PSY 447, PSY 448, PSY 478, SOC 424, SOC 457

    * NOTE: Students who wish to complete a double option in General Management and Human Resource Management cannot apply more than eight common credits to each program.
