An Executive Speaks

John Harker

Former CEO

InFocus

It's going to be both. Right now, the entrepreneurial organizations can't get traction because there's not much money out there if you're talking start-ups. VCs have been very reluctant to put money into the new when they have to take care of their old. But at the same time large organizations are saying, "If I don't have this entrepreneurial spirit; if I don't reorganize to afford my people the opportunity to operate that way, I'll be in trouble also." So large organizations are going to have to come around entrepreneurially, this whole entrepreneurial spirit and generation will take off again once the money is more available.
